This project consisted of many levels throughout the garden which brought together terraces, steps and retaining walls. Once the design stage was completed and materials agreed upon, this project was pre-quoted in detail and construction carried out.
There were hundreds of tonnes of core materials to be removed from the site and subsequently brought in fresh, to ensure that adequate preparation was achieved for all areas of the new layout.
The terraces and steps were constructed using a Brazilian natural stone mixed sizes slab product with matching bullnose treads for the steps. The largescale weight-bearing walls were built using a reclaimed red brick which we sourced from one of our approved reclamation suppliers which matched the existing house brick. All low retaining walls and planters were formed using European oak sleepers which were all cut to size and concreted in position vertically to help achieve the curves and contours of the surrounding levels. You will also see black granite setts featured, to create the driveway entrance threshold and detailed edging around flowerbeds.
Once the new garden was formed we then worked closely with the client and our approved electrical subcontractors to install relevant outside lighting and electrical sockets.
The client sourced the plants themselves and we then carried out the planting works to wrap up this extraordinary garden which the client will enjoy for years to come!
